NVIBC SHORT FILM EVENTS

SHORT FILM COLLECTIVE

The New Voices in Black Cinema-- Short Film Collective is a quarterly networking event and showcase of creative, compelling, and cutting-edge short films by and about characters of the African diaspora.

Started in 2009 as a bi-weekly screening series at the NY Perks bistro in Brooklyn Heights, the Short Film Collective is ActNow Foundation’s longest-running program and has since expanded to include venues such as ART New York's South Oxford Space, LIU Screening Center, Rustik Tavern, Amarachi Lounge, and BAMcinematék. ANF has introduced audiences to rising filmmakers including Roderick D. Giles, Keith Davis, Joie Lee, Michael Pinckney, Nikyatu Jusu, Terence Nance, Kwesi Davis, and a host of others.  The SFC program mission is to give film artists a public venue for their work and an opportunity to receive public feedback and support for their projects.
