Aaron Ingram was born and raised in the Bronx, New York and resided in the borough of Brooklyn for some eighteen years before his passing. Aaron was  a member of the performing arts community for seventeen years, as an actor, director and producer of stage and screen. He was a grantor for the Brooklyn Arts Council from 1996 to 1999, and 2004 for visual arts and theatre.

Aaron was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television Artists since 1991. As an artist, Aaron strove to create opportunities that provide venues for and encourage minority artists to cultivate their art. He created ActNow Theatre in 1990, under Pact Productions, and produced 10 plays through the company. In 1997, he developed ActNow Productions with David DeBeck and produced and develop a number of short films. Based on the success of these past experiences, Aaron decided to create ActNow Foundation in 2004, a not-for-profit arts organization that produces quality film and theatre.

This foundation provided a home for minority artists in which to showcase their talents and reflect the rich cultural diversity of New York City. Aaron believed that in order to create great art, one must create a solid foundation upon which artists can build an open and healthy environment in which to explore creativity. Aaron gave thanks for his successes to his mother and lifetime inspiration Jesse Mae White.
